The Sunshine Blogger Award πŸŒ»

Hello bibliophiles!

Yes you saw right, I got nominated ahhhh!!! πŸ€ͺπŸ€— First time being tagged, this brought so much light to my day. This award is really such an encouragement especially being a blogger newbie.

I’m eternally grateful to… my two nominators (is this a word haha?):

Ali @In the Lost and Found who has a beautiful blog 😍 and writes amazing book lists which are exhausting my TBR!

And also Riddhi @ Whispering Stories. Riddhi has many fun posts which I enjoy reading greatly, she even has her own blog meme/feature 🀩: Just Some Bibliophilic Things… I am so excited to participate in it this Saturday!

✨ What in the whole sky is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

(cherelle please stop with the corny puns)

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.

✨ How does it work?

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Now to to the creative questions!

🌻 Riddhi: When and why did you start blogging?

I started blogging last month, the 12 of September of be exact! I dived into the world of book blogging because well I needed a place to spam articulate all my thoughts on books and wanted to meet more bibliophiles, which I am happy to say that I have.

🌻 Ali: How did you come up with your blog title?

Hmm… it’s not that creative haha! All my life I have always identified as a “bookworm” but earlier this year I came across the term “bibliophile” which sounded fancy and describes me exactly. Thus, the title.

🌻 Riddhi: What is your favourite thing about blogging?

Everything. And I am not kidding. Though I have only blogged for a month, it’s given me so much joy in being able to share my thoughts and rants and fangirling and definitely connect with other bloggers. Every Time someone comments I get so excited!

🌻 Ali: If you could have a sequel and/or prequel to any book, what book would it be for?

Oh my goodness I need this power! Okay I know I talk about Lovely War too much but yes I want a prequel revolving around what happened between the Greek gods!

🌻 Riddhi: What is your least favourite thing about blogging?

I think my least favourite would be those stats. I find that at times, I can be a bit fixated on views which shouldn’t be the case! The fact that people already take time to drop a like or a comment or even just view it is already amazing.

🌻 Ali: What do you listen to while you read, or do you prefer silence?

Silence. When I hear music, I just want to jam! 🎸

🌻 Riddhi: What are your hobbies besides blogging?

Well I love reading, if that wasn’t obvious. But I also enjoy listening to my favourite musical theatre soundtracks (LES MIS!! PHANTOM!! HAMILTON!! MISS SAIGON!! and also a new discovery thanks to Abby@ Beyond the Read: STARRY!!). 🎀

🌻 Ali: What book character would you want to be your best friend?

Too many. Summer from A Thousand Perfect Notes, she’s so sweet and cheerful! Or Iko from The Lunar Chronicles! Lili from The Alice Network would be epic too.

🌻 Riddhi: What would the title of your biography/biopic be?

Woahh imagine having a biography! Reading is the only interesting thing in my life haha so I guess I’ll go for the “book-breathing, babbling and bawling bibliophile” because I love alliteration! πŸ“š

🌻 Ali: What is your favorite book to movie or TV show adaptation?

I’m such a pure breed, always believing the book is better so I hardly watch movies based on books! But Little Women was heartwarming. ❀

🌻 Riddhi: Some advice for people who have just started blogging?

I don’t know if I am even experienced enough! Just remember to write from your heart and visit other blogs. There are so many inspiring ones and don’t be scared to leave comments as they mean a ton.

🌻 Ali: What three books encompass who you are?

The War that Saved My Life (Kimberly Brubaker Bradley), All the Light We Cannot See (Anthony Doerr), Lovely War (Julie Berry) – yes I know I talk about these 2 wayy to much

🌻 Riddhi: Describe yourself in seven words? (Cause it’s the seventh question)

Riddhi, I love your question.

book, book, book, book bonkers + optimistically paranoid 🀠

🌻 Ali: What was your favorite book as a child?

ANYTHING that Enid Blyton wrote: Malory Towers, the Five Find-Outers, the Famous Five, the Secret Seven, all the short stories…

🌻 Riddhi: Dogs or Cats?

DOGGIEE. πŸ• Though the musical Cats is epic too, BECAUSE JELLICLES CAN AND JELLICLES DO BECAUSE JELLICLES DO AND JELLICLES CAN. 😺

🌻 Ali: What do you like doing on your free time other than reading?

Major musical theatre fan here as mentioned. I also enjoy playing the ukulele (thank you YouTube and Uketabs). (we need a ukulele emoji!!)

🌻 Riddhi: A TV show you can binge-watch forever?

Favourite movie will be A Dog’s Journey and A Dog’s Purpose. IT IS SO SWEET AND EMOTIONAL. I cried, yes I did. πŸ•

🌻 Ali: What is your favorite music album? If you don’t have one, what is your favorite song?

LES MISERABLES THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT CAST. And anything Disney.

🌻 Riddhi: A song you relate to? / A song you will never get tired of listening?

How does a Moment Last Forever by Celine Dion is so touching and hopeful. Even just reading the lyrics…*cue the tears* *sniff sniff* 🌹

🌻 Ali: What has been your biggest bookish blog accomplishment so far?

I think starting my blog was the biggest haha! However, I am also immensely astonished by the number of followers. Thank you guys. πŸ₯°

🌻 Riddhi: Who is your favourite author?

The war starts again. Much betrayal sigh.

C.G Drews makes you cry like crazy. 😭

Anthony Doerr and Julie Berry carved a special place in my heart for historical fiction. 😍

Shannon Messenger makes me spend all my money on her longggg series. πŸ“š

Kate Quinn takes away my sleep. πŸ›οΈ

And Marissa Meyer keeps me alive. πŸ€ͺ

🌻 Ali: What’s your favorite post you have written so far?

This might be the one! Get To Know Ya Book Tag was also bliss.

With that, this ends my answers! Love the questions, shoutout to Ali And Riddhi again.

And now… I have the power

  1. Congratulations on the award Cherelle!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ You totally deserve it β€” I love your blogging voice, and it’s incredible how much you’ve grown your blog already πŸ’— And thank you so much for mentioning me down below, it means a lot 😍😍

STARRY STARRY STARRY STARRY!!!! 🀩 I have succeeded in passing on the obsession!! Seriously, I haven’t listened to anything other than this album since the weekend β€” not even Hamilton, which is when you know we have a problem πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

Lovely War is currently quarantining in my garage since Amazon shipped it a few days ago!!! So excited to read it, especially after reading your review πŸ˜†

Amazing post as always, Cherelle! Sending all my love πŸ’–

    1. Aww thank you so much! ❀ My pleasure, your post about books with sibling relationships has become one of my favourites!

Hahaha… yes!! The songs in Starry are either super catchy or super emotional, I love it. It really is a meaningful musical! Thank you for bringing it into my list musicals cannot get enough of… Wheat fields is just…*sniffs*

Ahh I cannot wait for you to read Lovely War and your thoughts on it! It is truly a masterpiece and gives you all the feels. 😊

      Thanks for reading, Abby!

      1. Ahh I’m so happy you enjoyed the post! I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to me that it’s one of your favorites πŸ₯Ίβœ¨

Omg Wheat Fields 😭😭😭 I was doing my homework this afternoon when that song came on and I basically descended into a mourning-Vincent-van-Gogh sobbing fit πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

I can’t wait either!! Historical fiction and fantasy are two of my favorite genres, and I can’t wait to see how Julie Berry manages the combination!! ☺️

I hope you have a wonderful day, Cherelle!

  2. Congrats on the nomination! I really like how your personality shines through your posts. The award is very fitting!

One character I would like to be my bookish best bud is probably Keefe from Keeper of the Lost Cities. Together we’d be unstoppable, creating an even bigger prank than the Great Gulon Incident! 😈 Meanwhile cuddling with stuffed animals and talking about problems. πŸ₯Ί

I have to finish Lovely War! I’m still at that 106 page mark but I have so many library books! Why do I do this to myself? πŸ€ͺ
Also yesssss to musicals. I’ve been listening to Hamilton… nonstop. (I might have to find a new Hamilton pun! There are so many…)

And thanks for the nomination! I would love to do this πŸ˜„

    1. Awww thank you for your kind words, Eryn! ❀

HAHAHAH YES KEEFE PERFECT CHOICE… Shannon Messenger better enlighten us on what happened during the Great Gulon Accident! I am dying to know. Oh man yes Mrs Stinkbottom… Do you have a favourite stuffed animal? Mine is a monkey haha that I still keep all these years because I’m too sentimental. πŸ˜‚

Ahhhhh hello fellow Hamilton fan, I’m completely helpless towards the songs, they constantly reverberate in my head. (Yes I have a pun but it’s overused haha!)

Looking forward to your answers. 😊

      1. Ms. Messenger can’t keep us hanging like this! We need to know!

My favourite stuffed animal is a lion I named Quibbles after watching a House episode (all the medical drama and drama drama and Quibbles is what I took awayπŸ˜‚)

I love that pun! How could I say no to this? (I’m having way too much fun!)

        Thank you 😊

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Haha send my regards to Quibbles then!

Oh man that’s a good pun!I can’t think of anything else to continue the chain. πŸ˜‚

  3. Loved reading your responses Cherelle! Iko would totally be such a great friend! I’ve only ever seen Wicked live and I immediately became obsessed with it. I saw the Le Mis movie, but I know the musical is definitely probably so much better. Just realized that I have a Julie Berry book, I got a signed version of The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place from a book festival. I didn’t realize she wrote Lovely War until now! It’s so cool when authors write both adult and middle grade books. Love Marissa Meyer too, I will always be obsessed with The Lunar Chronicles!

Thanks for answering the questions!! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

    1. Ah yes Wicked is something I should go listen to! I loved the movie The Wizard of Oz especially “Follow the yellow brick road”, it’s such a cheerful and catchy song! πŸ˜†

Yes, the Les Mis musical is THE BEST! I haven’t ventured into the book yet as I am rather intimidated by its 900 pages. πŸ˜…

Woah a signed version!! That is so cool ahhh… 🀩 I know, I’m so glad about Julie Berry writing both adult and middle grade so I can recommend her to my little sister. 😊

Thank you again for tagging me, I loved your questions! ❀
