Fall Time, Cozy Time Tag || The Pumpkin Spice Latte Book Tag 🍂

It’s time to ignore the fact that its eternally summer here and dive into some fall tags! Again, my apologies I had to do the seasonal tags first or I would have to wait till next year! I know I am super behind on tags haha, but I have them all jotted down somewhere and eagerly look forward to all of them.

Fall Time, Cozy Time Tag

Thanks to Riddhi @ Whispering Stories and Isabella @ All You Need is Love and Books for tagging me! Two super sweet bloggers, you guys should go show them some love!

CRUNCHING LEAVES: The world is full of colour! Choose a book with red/orange/yellow on the cover.

These two give me a lot of fall vibes! Allegiant was a book I was quite disappointed in, especially the same sounding POVs while Where the Crawdads Sing was a out-of-my-normal-genres read that had intriguing characters!

COZY SWEATER: It’s finally cool enough for warm cozy clothing! What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

The Lunar Chronicles is always a comfort read for me… I love all the characters and the found family trope… And how they all work together and really make a change in Winter just makes me so proud of them!

FALL STORM: The wind is howling & the rain is pounding. Choose a book that you like to read on a stormy day.

I would imagine a stormy sky matching my overflowing tears for The Book Thief! Truly a historical fiction from the unique POV of death, one that features the love of my life: books and has incredibly endearing characters.

COOL CRISP AIR: makes you breathe freely~ Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?

Look at me, finding a way to squeeze 2 series from my favourite author in one tag!

Nova is like the coolest ever okay. If I trading places means I get her powers, wit and personality, then I’m all for it! Also, I would be super excited to meet all the Anarchists ah!

HOT APPLE CIDER: warm autumn drink. What underhyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?

The Seeds of America was one of the most eye-opening historical fictions I read. It is told from the perspective of a Black slave during the American Revolution and truly touches on important themes like racism.

COAT, SCARVES, & MITTENS: the weather has turned cold & it’s time to cover up! What’s a book cover you don’t like?

the original cover
the new cover

How could this happen?! 😦 I feel quite disappointed by the new cover, not that is very ugly but that I thought the original one was so iconic and pretty already.

PUMPKIN SPICE: time for some Starbucks! What’s your favourite fall comfort food?

That’s a tricky one since it’s eternally summer at the equator. Ermmm books?!

WARM, COZY BONFIRE: spread the cozy warmth! Who do you tag?

I tag anyone who fulfills one of the following conditions:

  • is interested to do the tag
  • says “fall” instead of “autumn”
  • fell down in the past week

The Pumpkin Spice Latte Tag

Many thanks to Becky @ Dusts of Magic for the tag! (Another lovely blogger with a lovely looking blog!)

🍂 PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE 🍂
a book you didn’t think you’d love

Okay I didn’t love this book but I really liked it! And I wasn’t expecting to be able to connect to the characters so much and really feel the dull, numb, regretful atmosphere.

🍂 HOT APPLE CIDER 🍂
a book that got you a bit hot under the collar

After reading this, I finally got the big hullabaloo about a certain chapter…

*coughs and blushes profusely*

🍂 PEANUT BUTTER HOT CHOCOLATE 🍂
a book that felt like a warm hug

Family and love and sacrifice and courage = a book that warms the cockles of my heart

🍂 MAPLE PECAN LATTE 🍂
a book you enjoyed that was hard to get into

It was definitely tough reading about Beck’s abuse at the hands of his mother and how powerless he was… but A Thousand Perfect Notes is one of the sweetest stories ever.

🍂 LONDON FOG 🍂
a vanilla character

I read a lot of fantasy and none of them could be considered vanilla haha. So we are going with Quentin from Paper Towns, one of the only contemporaries I read this year.

🍂 HOT BUTTERED RUM 🍂
a book that was velvety smooth to read

Warcross was smooth in the way that time just slipped by as I was engrossed in the world! This book has excellent world building and a great set-up with shocking turn of events, a great sci-fi!

🍂 PUMPKIN CREAM COLD BREW 🍂
a character whose temperament is icy cold

Cardan at first. And he still seems rather mysterious even after I completed the trilogy. I hope that How the King of Elfhame Learnt to Hate Stories will dissolve that air of mystery he has around him!

🍂 SALTED CARAMEL MOCHA 🍂
a book that you’re salty about

Because love triangles never seem to work my way… *big sigh*

🍂 HONEY BEE LATTE 🍂
a character who is sweet

I loved the contrast between the two sisters and their fierce protectiveness + different ways they try to make a difference. Isabelle and Vianne are the sweetest ever.

🍂 GINGERBREAD LATTE 🍂
a character you’d take home for christmas

Piper McCloud is such a sweet character, I would love to chat with her!

I tag:

Ahaana @ Windows to Worlds

Isha @ Paperback Tomes

Kirsten @ The Novel Existence

Meg @ Meg’s Magical Musings

Pilar @ The Bookworm Shelf

Urmomreadsbooks

If you guys have no interest or are too busy, that’s cool too!

Thank you all for reading! Who is a character you would take home for Christmas? And a book you are salty about?

    1. Thanks Alicia! Ooh Cress is a good choice… she definitely deserves even more love! I think a glimpse of how that would be like would be Marissa Meyer’s short story Covid 128 which features TLC characters in quarantine! Have you read it?

  1. I haven’t read ACOTAR, but I agree with everyone that that cover change is not it 😬 And what do you mean you’re salty about The Hunger Games 👀 Did you prefer Gale over Peeta?

This was super fun to read and thank you for tagging me ☺️!!

  2. Eeek, I say autumn and not fall *sweats in british* Haha this was such a fun tag. I started reading The Book Thief on a rainy day, and although I didn’t finish it I did love the vibes

  3. I feel EXACTLY the same way you do, Cherelle, about the love triangle in The Hunger Games! (and about love triangles in general.) Big let down. 😦 Nice tag! I liked your conditions for tagees. 😉

    1. I am seriously SO SO glad that we have the same opinion…high five!! I kind of predicted where it was going quite early on but I still held on to the hope… and then it was shattered into a million pieces. 😥 Thanks for commenting Millay! ❤

  4. I absolutely love The Book Thief and totally agree it’s the perfect book for a stormy day. It’s one of those books that has fundamentally shaped how I am today. The rest of the tags was excellent too!

    1. You’re very welcome! Take your time haha, I’m super horrible at doing them on time. Indeed, TCP is a popular book! For me, book 1 didn’t go very well but I can promise you epic-ness for the following two books! I hope you enjoy the whole series nonetheless. ❤

  6. Ooo!! A post without our fav series is always an incomplete post😂. It would have been incomplete without Marissa Meyer ❤️. Oo!!! I see you talked about a particularly wicked chapter in the acomaf😈❤️❤️. I agree with the cover art changes… though I don’t hate the new covers….I kinda like the art ..but the OGs were better. The book thief is one of my favourite too!! It’s like the perfect book to read during a rainy day.

Also, I don’t know if you have already seen it…but I sent you an email yesterday. I used the email address in your contact page. 😊❤️

    1. Ayyy nicely said! 🤪 I’m going to adopt that line every time I use the same books again and again. 🤩

Ahhh yeah ACOTAR was still okay in terms of those kind of scenes so ACOMAF really shocked me haha even with everyone’s warning. 😅 So glad that you agree with me on the covers and high five on the book thief! 🙌

I’ve seen your email haha, thank you so much! I’m really excited!! ❤

  7. THE ACOMAF ONE 😭😂 and I just don’t understand why they changed the covers, I still haven’t pre-ordered acosf just because I’m hoping there’ll be another edition 😭

    1. Haha, ahhh same… and apart from the new covers not being as pretty, I also want my books to match haha… thanks for commenting Alissa!❤
